I am writing to you about this year’s 20:20 print exchange hosted by Hot Bed Press. We are really hoping that londonprintstudio would be able to take part this year, as it would be a great incentive for our members to make new work and be part of the bigger printmaking network in the UK.
There is plenty of time for everyone to get printing and to get involved. We therefore request that members interested in taking part in this year’s 20:20 print exchange to send in their names along with participation fee of £10.00 to Kath by Thursday, 31st July 2014 so that we may go ahead and intimate Hot Bed Press accordingly. Please also remember that lps requires your prints to be submitted by end September.
20:20 Print Exchange started in 2009 as a project between Hot Bed Press in Salford and Red Hot Press in Southampton, (we decided against calling it The Heat Exchange). We liked the format so much we quickly decided to roll this out to more print workshops. It has grown each year. Over 50,000 prints have been created and exchanged in the past 6 years.
The Print Exchange is organised by Hot Bed Press and the 2013 exchange featured work from 585 artists from 40 print workshops. Each printmaker that takes part in the exchange provides 25 prints sized 20cm x 20cm, and in return they get 20 random prints returned to them, including one of their own. The extra prints are exhibited throughout the UK and Ireland at a select number print workshops that took part.
